First you need to enter the contest by filling out the Contest entry form on the Frenchwave.net site before 30 June 2009.
When you fill out the form you will need to choose in which category you are going to compete, Amateur or Professional. Be advised that the "Pro" category requires you to adhere to more exacting technical standards.
By entering this contest you give the site Frenchwave, net the right to reproduce your image on the internet or in any other form of communication (multimedia or paper).
You can only compete in one category.
French is the official language of this contest. In there were any discrepancies between the English version of these rules and the French version, the French version shall prevail.
Images submitted are required to have at least one depiction of plastic, transparent or not, and water. The bottle shape, environment and image composition are entirely up to the competitor.
Any logo for an existing product, or advert for a bottled water is forbidden.
The use of images from the Internet is forbidden. The use of 2D image creation programs (for the creation of the label notably) is admissible as long as it doesn’t affect the rendering of materials as created inside LightWave 3D and as long as it always allows for judging your work in 3D (no retouching).
To highlight technical ability in this test of modelling, texturing and render, the final image should be the work of one and only one person. Any evidence of non-adherence to this rule may disqualify the user from this contest. The same applies to any contestant guilty of plagiarism or the use of elements that were not created by the user him/her-self.
In the "Pro" category, all project textures must have been created at least in part in the Node Editor. Any project in the pro category not respecting this rule will be excluded from the competition and will not be eligible for entrance in the amateur category.
Make sure that your project stages are saved, or to take regular screen captures. Should your entry win the contest, these images may be used for a "making of...".
The final render can only be made with LightWave’s render engine. The use of third party render engines, or lighting systems (Maxwell, kray, etc.) is not authorised. The use of the Fprime plugin is acceptable.
Jury members are not eligible to partake in the contest.
